THEBAIDS

“Already he was dreaming of a refined thebaid, a comfortable desert, a still and warm ark where he would take refuge from the incessant deluge of human stupidity” HUYSMANS | À rebours | 1884

In French, this name has taken on a specific meaning, derived from its original meaning: a region of Egypt, around Thebes, now called Luxor. This city was an oasis in the middle of a desert area… where persecuted Christian communities had taken refuge.
The Thebaid is therefore a quiet and remote place to live in isolation, in peace.

The Thebaids, a collection of cyanographs that belong to no other.
Either they have been exhibited in “panorama” mode, as at the Invalides in 2018, where the idea was to show the range of possibilities, or they are unpublished, in hermitage at the Thebaids, while a collection is being built.
