EXHIBITION
RDC#5 | OFF TRACK | ARLES
EL REY DEL COMPAS is a festival of Argentine tango, organised by a collective of DJs but it is above all the nickname of Juan D’ARIENZO, the king of rhythm.
This Argentinian conductor gave tango an incisive style that ushered in the golden age of dancing and balls in the 1940s.
The event is celebrating its 5th year… and for this edition too, EL TRECE TANGO CLUB reiterates the ephemeral art gallery in the alcoves.
The two resident artists are there,
the painter Olivia MAUREY-BARISSON
and the visual artist Azul LOEVE.
They will hang their works in the whole church of the Preaching Brothers.
For this fifth anniversary, Azul LOEVE pays homage to Juan D'ARIENZO with an incursion into portraiture.
The exhibition DÉPISTÉ includes new works in larger formats and many cyanographies dedicated to tango.
Unpredictable, abstract strolls
On the edge of precarious balances
Offbeat dancers,
Out-of-field spaces
and off the poetic track
A big thank you to Benoît Galindo, Camille Boucher et Marc Tommasi
